A very fine German boxwood holder for a single pocket watch. Made in Oberamergau town which is situated in the Bavarian Alps in south central Germany, on the Ammer River. This town was celebrated for its local woodcarvings. Engraved in low relief with a deer and flower designs, the base holding the watch is lined with gray velvet, the lid can fold over to enclose the watch.
