A Heavy French Cut Glass Inkwell With Gilt Hinged Lid.

This is an interesting antique inkwell made from heavy cut clear glass with convex and concave sides and star cut base. The hinged lid and collar are made with gilt engraved and pierced decoration. The flat lid with beveled glass and round cartouche with initials. Tiny flake on the base that does not show.
