Fowler & Co. in Manchester made this calculator during the 1930’s. It was designed for engineers; draughtsman and science students with several advantages over straight slide rules. The calculator consists of two dials and two rotating knobs. These dials are synchronized with a rotating radial hairline cursor to solve problems with cubes; powers; roots, Log, sin, cos, tan as well as routine arithmetic. The rule is marked 'Fowler's Long Scale Calculator Magnum' and 'Patent' and 'Fowler & Co. Manchester). Comes in its original leather case lined in green felt. Also included is a 32 page instruction manual/ Fowler's was founded in 1898 by William Henry Fowler. He was joined by his son Harold in 1905.
