Adix is a relatively simple column adder for adding numbers up to 999. This rare machine works on a cogwheel mechanism and displays numbers when a key is depressed. The mechanism lies exposed so all wheels and levers can be seen. Adix has various models, this one is the first to include a reset mechanism, (the lever at top right). Because the machine can be used easily only up to 999 and actually didn't provide significant savings of time, their production was discontinued rather soon after its inception. The Adix was made by Pallweber and Bordt of Mannheim Germany around 1905. The adder comes in its original brown leather fitted case. The machine is in perfect working order.
