19th Century Rare Mirror Ophthalmoscope. This is a pocket type folding brass ophthalmoscope made in England by Hills, London. This is a modification of Helmholtz Augenspiegel ophthalmoscope that includes a silvered mirror with a central hole for reflected light source (possibly flame) and a revolving disc carrying a series of 10 lenses for eyes of different refraction (+1 to + 8 and -1 to – 4). The length of the instrument is 9 cm (3 ½ inch) and with the chrome-plated handle folded, the ophthalmoscope length is only 5 cm.
