A unique 'Leitz' Camera Lucida.

A unique 'Leitz' Camera Lucida. The original black carrying case is in great condition inscribed 'Leitz - San Francisco, Los Angeles'. The case has a purple velvet cushion and a blue interior, with slots for 8 lenses (2 are missing). Interestingly, the edges of the lenses are colored, probably for identification purposes. The colors are: Dark Green, orange, purple, black, brown and green. The lenses are in good condition although the black lens is marked on its edge. (Note that lenses are solely for the purpose of fine focusing, and are not critical for the operation of a Camera Lucida.) The clamp has a unique 'arm' type lever to tighten the camera once the desired angle is achieved. The telescope tubes open nicely in a spiral motion, and can be tightened as well. The prism bar, holder and the prism itself have some marks. Overall, a solid camera lucida in good working condition. Comes with instructions on how to operate the Camera Lucida.
