Silver coin of the Jewish War. This is the half shekel silver coin struck in Jerusalem during the third year of the Jewish war against Rome (Year 66/67 CE). Obverse side: Chalice with smooth rim and a pearl on each side, the base and rim has pearled ends. Above the chalice is the date Hebrew letter gimel for year 3. Around is the inscription – half a shekel. Reverse side: Stem with pearled base and three pomegranates. Around is the Hebrew inscription – Jerusalem the Holy.
