Prutah of Herod Archelaus. Years 4 BCE to 6 CE. This coin was minted by Herod Archelaus, oldest son of Herod the Great, in Jerusalem. Obverse side: Anchor with long, slender arms and a Greek inscription “of Hordus”. Reverse side: Greek Inscription “EON” (abbreviation for “Ethnarch of Judea” – the title given to him by Emperor Augustus) surrounded by wreath. Reference: Hendin 507
