Mancur Balance: The C-Spring Scale Type. This type was used in Europe as well as in the Unites States in the 19th century. This scale, made in England, is hand made by forging an elliptical steel spring stripe, two suspension rings, two load hooks and a brass dial plate with graduations in two scales from 10 to 200 and 0 to 35 pounds. The steel pointer is made in an old fashion style and is hinged to the C-spring. By changing the hooks, a different sensitivity is achieved. Overall length 29 cm. (11½ inch).
