This is a small type anemometer by Casella London, with flat vanes, which indicate the number of linear feet of air, which have passed the instrument during its exposure. Made by Casella London with serial number 4671 and graduated to 1000 meters. The instrument is in very good working condition. It comes in its original maroon velvet lined leather case. The Casella company was established in 1799 in Holborn, London by Cesare Tagliabue. In 1846 he was joined Louis Pascal Casella and the company name was changed to Casella & Tagliabue. The first London shop was opened in 1848 and the company name was changed to Casella. When his son, Charles Frederick Casella, took over the company around 1897 the company became C.F. Casella, and in 1910 C. F. Casella & Company Ltd.
