View from the north of the Kidron valley with the village of Silwan (Siloam) on the left. The slopes are the foot of mount of olives. In the fore front and in the open fields, gravestones are visible. The Jewish cemetery extends from the top of mount of olives to the bottom . The valley at the bottom is also know as the valley of Jehosaphat and the Tyropeon valley. This valley was the eastern border of the ancient city of Jerusalem.This is an unsigned albumen print on a thin sheet of paper with sepia color and slightly glossy surface. The words Siloe and Valle du Cidron are written in ink at the top. The picture is in very good condition with very minor foxing and no tears or cracks. Size 26 cm X 19 cm
