Item#: MET88

SOLD

This is a rather unique saw dated around the 1860's and was used as a spine sectioning saw in post mortem operations. This tenon saw has an ebony pistol grip handle and a second turned ebony front grip handle. This handle was used for extra leverage. This unique feature is not described in the many books and articles that we have read. This saw predated sterilization since the handle is wood, and therefore cannot be sterilized. Both handles are in perfect shape but there is some darkening and light corrosion to the blade. The blade is 20 cm (8 inches) long and the TPI is 8
