A 1/2 Pint oilcan by Joseph Lucas. An unusually long No. 62 round oilcan with brass fittings and turn-off nozzle It is marked on the side ‘Jos. Lucas Ltd. Forced Feed No.62 Birmingham’ . The Company of Sir Joseph Lucas Ltd. From Birmingham started in 1875 with production of ship and bicycle lamps and accessories. In the 1920s they started making batteries. Lucas made Morse keys and produced bicycles and oilers used in WW I. During the Second World War Lucas produced the No.4 Mk.III bayonet with scabbard.
