A mid 19th century cased set of surgical instruments made in England by J.& W. Wood. The three layered brass bound mahogany case containing 18 instruments: Convex Hey saw, Long blue steel saw, Elevators. Ebony handled knives, scalpels and bistouries. Needle holder, cutter, artery forceps. Several pieces are missing. The case is 23 cm long and 14 cm wide, with a monogram "Dr. Joseph Davies"
